Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, the qualified Project Consultant will have experience in program management and providing insights on large data sets with a proven track record of process optimization. He or she will act in a consulting capacity on projects with capital budgets ranging from several million dollars to several 100 million dollars. They will be responsible for the planning and setup of data flow processes as well as providing insights on project data throughout the project. The successful candidate will identify queries and validations specific to each project, ensure that all information passed to the customer is accurate, and delivered on time, and identify areas for process improvement based on the analysis performed. Familiarity with the industry and the field concepts, practices and procedures are considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will have a business analysis and project management background with the ability to problem solve, prioritize, and be adaptable in this evolving position. The Project Consultant will face new challenges daily as projects may differ in size, scope and team composition. The role will evolve as the company continues to expand and the successful applicant may be required to take on additional responsibilities to meet the needs of this growing business.


  • Direct and manage project schedule as well as deliverables related to data flow, processing and cleanliness;
  • Provide quality assurance of data sent to customers; 
  • Identify trends through data analyses;
  • Help define, develop and manage delivery of project reports;
  • Support initiatives related to data integrity and normalization;
  • Train stakeholders on use of reports and dashboards;
  • Support initiatives related to process optimization and efficiency;
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders;
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills;
  • Identify and manage project dependencies;
  • Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations; 
  • Track project performance and milestones, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term project goals;
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques (Dashboard Reporting);
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed;
  • Perform other related duties as required;

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in data and business analysis
  • Experience in data management, mining, and insights
  • Experience in process development and optimization
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks
  • Interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, multitasking and prioritizing
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visio)


  • Program Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
  • International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or similar certification
  • Preference for candidates with an understanding of Advanced Metering, Meter Data Management and Utility business processes and practices
  • Experience in the water meter industry or working with municipalities and utilities

Operational Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to travel within North America
  • Valid G driver’s license

Work Location:

  • The primary work location will be at a home office
  • Travel to client locations across North America (when appropriate), typically 2 to 3 days per visit, 1-2 times per month
  • Diameter Services will arrange for applicable visas when working in the United States and abroad
